Select two presidential candidates currently in the race. Find out what each candidate's stance is on immigration (you can usually find this on their websites). Compare what they plan to do, their ideology, to what you have learned thus far about immigration in the U.S. Be critical, but be thoughtful and fair.

Two candidates for the presidential election are Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Two are from different parties, and have vastly different views and ideas about immigration, illegal aliens, and border maintenance.

Hillary Clinton's stance on immigration is very lenient, she wants to make becoming a legal american citizen easier than it ever was, wants to cut down the 3 to 10 year wait bar, and she wants to keep families together. Clinton's view on immigration is good for those illegal ones like Frank because they will have a better chance of being able to stay in America after they have been caught. Donald Trumps stance on immigration is way different, he stated many times during his rallies that "a nation without borders is not a nation" , "a nation without laws is not a nation", and "a nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation". Trump wants to build a wall on the southern border because Trump thinks that if we build a wall all the immigration problems will be over. These two have a very different stance on immigration; however i think that Clinton's stance is the more reasonable plan.

I have to agree with you, Clinton's plan I find way more appealing than Trump's. I think we feel this way, because of the way Frank touched our hearts! <3

many of us may have different views of the immigration issues, as well as our presidential candidates. Hillary Clinton states “We have to finally and once and for all fix our immigration system – this is a family issue, it’s an economic issue too, but it is at heart a family issue. If we claim we are for family then we have to pull together and resolve the outstanding issues around our broken immigration system. The American people support comprehensive immigration reform not just because it’s the right thing to do—and it is—but because it will strengthen families, strengthen our economy, and strengthen our country. That’s why we can’t wait any longer, we can’t wait any longer for a path to full and equal citizenship.” While Bernie Sanders states We are a nation of immigrants. I am the son of an immigrant myself. Their story, my story, our story is a story of America: hard-working families coming to the United States to create a brighter future for their children. The story of immigrants is the story of America, a story rooted in family and fueled by hope. It continues today in families all across the United States. i believe that both of these candidates have very valid points and have the right as Americans to think and have a say in what they believe is right. Bernie is the son of immigrants, he is for for immigration and believes there is no problems, but my only question for him is, what about the immigrants that didn't come here legally? are all immigrants the same? right or wrong? where at the same time Hillary believes we need to continue to progress from Obama's immigration issues. this to be sounds like the best plan in taking steps in the right direction. We have to take baby steps before you can run. what do you think?

Bernie actually supports Obama's system also. I think the baby steps are a good idea, but Bernie also wants to legalize all immigrants right now. I'm not sure that that's a good plan, but the idea to legalize those that deserve it is a good idea. I was thinking the same thing about the legal and illegal immigrants and their equality, but most immigrants, even if they're illegal, aren't doing much wrong. They're living their lives like any other citizen, they just don't have the papers because they're so hard to get.

"I will stand up against any effort to deport dreamers. Immigrants are vital to our economy," this is from Hillary Clinton she has a very good look on immigration and wants to keep families together and is ready to forward and keep Obama's policy, the second president is Donald Trump who's immigration stance is a little diffrent then Hillary Clinton. "We're going to bring people in, but we are going to bring people in legally" Trump wants nothing to do with undocumented people in our country he wants them all gone no matter the situation, which would ruin our economy and send more jobs over sea. Trumps plan is very unfair to the hard workers who are working the jobs others wont and keeping bussnesis home and running on american soil.

Looking into today's running presidential candidates I decided to write about the very well known Donald Trump, even though we all pretty much know Trump's views on everything. Refreshing everyone on Donald's opinion, Trump's immigration reform is made up of three components, 1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced. 3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans. With these being Donald Trump's three main point on his opinion on immigration it sounds like he wants to build a wall to keep immigrants out.

The two candidates I chose were the Zodiac Kill...I mean Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders. I was surprised when I researched into Ted Cruz's immigration standing and it was very, very, similar to Trumps. Ted Cruz wants to "build a wall, triple border security, and put surveillance and biometric tracking to secure the border." Ted has also said that he is for deporting all illegal immigrants in the United States. So in this instance, If Ted Cruz was president at the time Frank's trial was going on, there would've been a much higher chance of Frank being deported.

The two presidential candidates I've chosen are Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. I can't say I agree completely with either of these men but if I had to choose one, Donald Trump is definitely on the bottom of the list. I don't like to be a part of the immigration train. Bernie believes we should start a campaign to keep immigrants in the U.S. because they are a huge part of our manual labor. Trump believes that we should build walls and keep immigrants out of America. Once again, I honestly would choose Bernie's side because we want to keep the in America because they are the biggest source of manual labor we have. If we build walls around America, we are killing our source of fruits, vegetables, and other misc. things. Also it just doesn't seem right to kick thousands of people out of America, "The Land Of The Free" because of citizenship.

looking at Donald Trumps opinions about immigration, he doesn't' seem very fond of it. Trump wants to build a wall on the border so illegal immigrants cant come in and commit crimes. He almost makes it sound like all immigrants are no good, and that all of them are eventually going to commit some kind of crime. reading through his opinions and thoughts a little more, he then says " were going to bring them in and were going to do it legally". If a person is born in the united states, or grows up in the united states and gets an education here, I feel like they should be allowed to stay in the country. If there parents move to the united states and have a child in the country, then the child should at least be allowed to stay.

The two presidential candidates I chose to find out what their stance on immigration is, are Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Ted Cruz's stance on immigration is basically an exact copy of Donald Trumps stance on the topic. When asked a question regarding immigrants, Ted Cruz replied, "We should deport them. We should build a wall, we should triple the Border Patrol. Federal law requires that anyone here illegally that’s apprehended should be deported.” Ted Cruz has taken to following the path of Donald Trumps campaign, trying to get more popular. Ted Cruz's ideology on immigration is similar to what we learned about, but is more extreme. There are a lot of people trying to get rid of immigrants, even though many companies and our entire economy really depends on illegal workers to work for them.

It's interesting to see that Cruz is so quick to refuse all of these immigrants based on the sole fact that it is 'illegal,' when he isn't even born in America; he was born in Canada. Take that, Zodiac Killer.

Bernie Sanders has a sense of empathy for all immigrants, given he is the son of an immigrant. On his campaign site, you quickly start to grasp Sanders approach to this sensitive issue just by the title to his proposal, "A fair and Humane Immigration Policy." In his policy, Sanders proposes that he will; Dismantle inhumane deportation programs and detention centers;

I agree, in fact when you talk about how the media can make things out to be polar opposites it is the same way on the republican side of the spectrum. When I read Ted Cruz and Donald Trumps immigration policies they were shockingly similar as well.

Hillary Clinton may not be the best when it comes to politics, seeing as how she makes quite a few 'mistakes'. So, when she says she wants to help immigrants become legal, can we really rely on her to keep her word? Can we rely on her to not screw it up?

for this assignment, I will be reviewing Ted Cruz, and Hillary Clinton. I'll start with Mr. Cruz. Cruz states that he wants to strengthen the border, create a border wall that works. he also states that he wants to triple the amount of border patrol agents while increasing aerial surveillance. Cruz also wants to end the amnesty that president Obama started. In a case like Frankie's from the documentary that we watched, Frankie would most likely be deported.

Ending birthright citizenship would almost certainly solve the problem of splitting family up, as nobody would be safe in America by default, but it would also close the door behind people like Frank who have never regarded Mexico as their home, even though they are technically not citizens of America. Whatever the solution may be, it's never a bad idea to look at all angles of the problem before jumping into anything serious.

Ted Cruz, one of the forerunners of the republican party, and Bernie Sanders, a forerunner for the democratic party, have radically different views on the same subject: immigration. For a man like Frank, some may think that regardless of his communal status, he remains an illegal immigrant, and should be deported, which aligns closely with Ted Cruz’s views. However, in other cases, like Bernie Sanders, people believe that illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship and allowed into America. Policies like the ones that Cruz believes in leave little wiggle room for excuses, legit or not. Cruz believes that physical infrastructure of the border (he wants to build a wall) must come before removing the obama administration's efforts; only then does Cruz plan to pursue reform to the legal-immigrant system. While this plan is not bad, it fails to take into account families currently in the US, and how this system would likely split them up. It also shafts people like Frank who have made a home here in America their entire life, only to be deported on a single stipulation.

Hillary Clinton, Democratic party, supports a path to citizenship. People who live in the United States illegally who pay their dues and follow the American rules deserve to stay. If they have committed a crime, they need to go back. "It would be impractical to deport them all." said Clinton. Ted Cruz, Republican party, doesn't support the path. He wants to send all illegal immigrants back and build a wall. "Secure the border, once and for all." said Cruz. Wanting to strengthen and enforce our existing immigration laws could ruin what we have going on. Cruz doesn't like our "generous immigration system." Personally i side with Hillary Clinton on this subject. The illegal immigrants who have lived here for a long time and pay bills, taxes, and attempt to communicate with Americans deserve to stay. Especially the ones who were brought over by their parents when they were children, like Frank. They go through school, get a job, raise a family and then you want to deport them, the life in the U.S. is about the only life they know. Building a wall could be a good idea but that's also a lot of money to invest into something. Clinton wants to help the immigrants (they must have moved here for some reason so why not attempt to help them, they help us) and Cruz doesn't care at all. He wants to kick them all out without a second thought and then keep them out.

I think that the candidates that want to deport illegal immigrants want them out of the country to show that we have laws set that we need to follow. To say that we can't just pick and choose which laws to follow. On top of that, I believe that they don't want to grant amnesty just because it would be giving them "the easy way out." Why should they be granted citizenship while there have been people waiting for years to try to enter our country? I'm not saying that this is the right thing to do, but rather just trying to present an idea.

Having talk about illegal immigrants in class this week, we can think of illegal immigrants as a necessary evil. Saying this, I want to keep this topic as fair and equal as possible. The two candidates that I chose to compare are Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton.
